Job Summary:

A Dishwasher is responsible for operating the dishwasher to properly clean all dishes and cooking utensils used in the kitchen, restaurant and banquets, as well as scrubs pots and re-stocks all supplies in the assigned areas. General kitchen cleaning duties; including the cleaning and mopping of kitchen floors and trash removal.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Washes dishes, pots, pans, and other cooking utensils using the dishwasher or by hand in the 3-compartment sink if necessary.
  • Restocks all clean glasses, silverware and plates.
  • Performs general cleaning in order to stay in compliance with the health department including sweeping, moping, scrubbing, wiping down of equipment such as a slicer, refrigerators, freezers, hot boxes, ice machines, and the like.
  • Puts away food stuffs and dry goods in their proper location, rotating first in, first out.
  • Puts away all supplies and chemicals in their proper location.
  • Informing supervisor when the kitchen is running low on necessary items; especially chemicals and supplies used in the dish area.
  • Assist with food preparation, plating, garnishing, etc. as needed.
  • Removes the trash from all containers, taking it to the dumpster located on the loading dock.
  • Removes all recyclables from the kitchen and disposes of it appropriately; cardboard broken down and put in the cardboard bin, glass placed in the glass bin, etc.
  • Cleaning trash receptacles, recycling containers, and other waste containers as needed to prevent odors and pest infestation.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work while standing on your feet for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to load and unload the dishwasher, handle all sorts of kitchen equipment, knives, slicing blades, etc.
  • Open availability
