Our brand new hotel, Westin RDU/Brier Creek, has an opportunity for an experienced banquet chef to assist our F&B department. Weekend availability is a must.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for delivering products of the highest quality in terms of freshness, taste and adhering to all food safety guidelines.
  • Take orders and cook as required.
  • Provide superior guest service, while ensuring all tables and food areas are kept clean and dining area maintained while guests are enjoying their meals.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of previous banquet Chef experience
  • MUST be friendly, outgoing, and willing to engage guests in conversation.
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to succeed.
  • Clean background check, and reliable transportation a must.
  • Ability to lift, pull and push moderate weight is necessary.
  • Knowledge of the use of commercial kitchen equipment/Turbo Chef.
  • Ability to handle comments and suggestions.
  • Experience with Micros, Birchstreet and Microsoft Office is highly desired.
  • ServSafe certified a plus.
  • Skilled in fresh preparation of different styles of cuisine
  • Open availability, can work unrestricted
  • Experience in quantifying foods
  • Experience in managing food cost per each banquet event
  • Ability to understand food pars and ordering
  • Can work with a team, different languages, can take direction from different styles of leadership and people
  • Is committed to making fresh products, be creative and adaptable to high end clientele
  • Can also be able to work a line and be willing in slow periods to do what it takes to make the team successful
  • Allergen Certifications preferred
  • Bilingual preferred
