The Area Director of Sales is responsible for leading the sales efforts across multiple hotel properties within a designated geographic area. This position plays a key role in driving group, corporate, and transient business, optimizing revenue, and ensuring a cohesive sales strategy aligned with brand and corporate goals. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with deep hospitality sales experience and a strong ability to inspire teams to achieve outstanding results.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct the sales operations for a portfolio of hotels, ensuring each property meets or exceeds its revenue targets.

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans tailored to local market conditions and property positioning.

  • Partner with Revenue Management and Marketing to align strategies for maximum profitability and occupancy.

  • Cultivate and maintain key client relationships, particularly with high-value corporate, group, and travel agency accounts.

  • Analyze performance metrics, competitive market data, and booking trends to adjust sales tactics as needed.

  • Serve as the liaison between hotel properties and corporate leadership, ensuring consistent brand and sales standards.

  • Participate in key industry events, tradeshows, and networking opportunities to drive business development.

  • Ensure compliance with brand standards and franchise/ownership expectations.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years sales experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Market knowledge of the Raleigh/Cary area highly desired.
  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Deep understanding of hotel revenue streams including group, transient, and corporate segments.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in using revenue and market data to drive results.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in hotel sales systems (e.g., Delphi, CI/TY, Opera , STS, Fosse) and CRM platforms.
